As if the life...

As if the life would be nothing else
than the burn up of a light!
Not one particle gets lost
but we ourselves go into nothingness!

Because what we call body and soul
so close in one
it dissolves into thousands of particles
and sworms around the desert space.

It always is the same life
nature goes its very way
in thousand new created beings
the thousand particles find their place

But the being is lost
that only consisted of this bound
if not by chance the dusty
get together into a new being.

Wie wenn das Leben...

Wie wenn das Leben wär nichts andres
als das Verbrennen eines Lichts!
Verloren geht kein einzig Teilchen,
jedoch wir selber gehn ins Nichts!

Denn was wir Leib und Seele nennen,
so fest in eins gestaltet kaum,
es löst sich auf in tausend Teilchen
und wimmelt durch den öden Raum.

Es waltet stets dasselbe Leben,
Natur geht ihren ewgen Lauf;
in tausend neu erschaffnen Wesen,
stehn diese tausend Teilchen auf.

Das Wesen aber ist verloren,
das nur durch diesen Bund bestand,
wenn nicht der Zufall die verstaubten
aufs Neue zu einem Sein verband.
